Now a days there are many courses both online and classroom trainings where we get certifications. But are these certifications are a way to say that you have gained the additional knowledge. Are these certifications mandatory?
For someone who have worked on particular field for years together it seems unnecessary to have a certification, which is true. But for someone who is looking to hire a specific skill and who does not know you personally, certifications are a way to say that you are skilled in the particular field. Also, when there is credibility issue in the profiles which are being circulated in the job market, certifications gives a confidence to your recruiter that you have atleast the basic knowledge in a particular field. Also, these certifications gives you the latest knowledge in the field you have worked on and help us to bridge the gap.
Yes certifications alone cannot define a person's capability, but it can be a good start in conveying your capability to someone you don't know.
Certifications are good way to showcase your knowledge. Finally, your knowledge will speak the most when you are having a conversation with another person, who might be your peer, your competitor, and even be the next hiring manager.
