One day low cost experiment: Boycotting everything that needs plastic materials like plastic bag, plastic bottle or plastic cutlery. Using the other alternatives for plastic like plastic bag being replaced by cloth bag or steel box; plastic bottle being replaced by metal bottle or earthen pot and plastic cutlery being replaced by steel cutlery.
This will test the hypothesis that we can survive and live a normal life without using the plastic products. The cost of the experiment is nominal like maybe few hundred rupees.
If I can continue the same experiment with facing any impediments for a prolonged period and if it induces an habit then I think I have succeeded in the experiment.

ReplyDeleteI liked the idea that you are suggesting. Plastic has one benefit, i.e. it is water proof and spill proof along with being light weight and low on cost. Considerable number of people are aware of the environmental effects of plastic but still choose to use it. There are some materials discovered lately that have similar properties as that of plastic. I would suggest you to look into those materials while exploring your experiment.
